Our company was founded in the heart of Trentino Alto Adige in 1980, at an altitude of 1089 metres, where the village of Ronzone (TN) is located amidst the coniferous forests. On the horizon stand the Brenta Dolomites, of unparalleled beauty. They remind us that the peaks can in fact be reached, but only with sacrifice and determination, just like we have reached the heights of the quality of our speck. We breathe the pure air scented with pine needles and, thanks to this natural environment, the speck we produce here is very different from others, we have made it sweeter. A taste that also has distant roots in our long history.

Our Kaiserspeck has been produced following our family tradition for generations. The forefather Franz Schmid (1859-1932) began the production of speck in Obereggen (Bolzano), in Alto Adige. The tradition has continued with his son Nikolaus (1901-1975), master butcher of Merano (Bolzano). His son Karl (1942) created the Kaiserspeck brand and founded the current company in 1980 in Ronzone. His son Nikolaus (1964) now represents the fourth generation and, with the same traditional secret family recipe, continues to passionately produce speck.

Patient and professional people, our collaborators share our passion with us and follow us with determination and strength. We are all proud of our 100% natural speck, because producing without industrial and chemical shortcuts requires a lot of courage. Our speck is natural, but our company is equipped with all modern technology and the company management system is IFS and ISO 9001 certified. Packaging, cutting, weighing and labelling follow the latest guidance and are computerised.

Our family has lived in Trentino-Alto Adige for generations, we love this landscape and we live all its aspects: we like hiking in our mountains, skiing on the peaks of the Dolomites, cultivating vineyards, fruit, delights, tasting wines and spirits in our wine cellars or at the table with our loved ones. We know and respect our territory where our roots reach back centuries, with pleasure we have selected excellent wines, sparkling wines and liqueurs from our production or from the best producers.
